This Is Not Time Travelling

”Oh, you gotta be kidding with me! ” Remy screamed as he rolled forward to avoid the gigantic axe gliding through the deformed ground.

”I think the stories are overly exaggerated! The round and fluffy ones were supposed to have the ability to control the ground! What the hell are these things?! ” He continued to scream angrily.

”Killer Gliders! Keep running Remy! ” Aurielle shouted. HIHIHI! It giggles playfully, the gigantic axes were wielded by small monsters in black with creepily smiling masks. Its body was made of dirtied fur only showing its monstrous hands and legs with pointy nails. They were riding the axe and can control the ground at their will.

The Guardian: Killer Gliders. Each time they glide using the axe, it creates sparks from the friction and possibly sharpened the axe even more.

”Thats not cute at all. ” Dylan commented.

”Thats your concern?! ” Remy was in disbelief.

”The Golem was a lot easier than this one. We can even stand properly. ” Dylan was right. When they entered the Ruin of Eves earlier, The Guardian: Armored Golem; though very tough, they were pretty slow compared to most monsters. The Killer Gliders, on the other hand, are way much faster and trickier.

However, the Golem was the toughest to beat yet, because its body was hard as steel. It took most of their mana and time to defeat it while avoiding getting crushed, the same way as the shattered bones on the floor. It seems like some adventurers did manage to set foot on the Ruin of Eve, losing their life.

One of the notable abilities that the Golem can do that felt like the biggest threat, is when they can transform into gigantic rolling balls, only then they were unstoppable, fast, and high in durability. Luckily, they managed to destroy them one by one, however, mana, energy, and time had to be sacrificed.

Now, returning to the Killer Gliders, they kept causing the three of them, to lose ground as the Killer Gliders continuously onslaught them with their ability to appear and disappear between the walls and the ground. Oddly enough, the pillars don seem to budge whenever the Killer Gliders deformed the floor.

Cuts were unavoidable, they had bleedings here and there from some part of their body. They manage to kill some of the Killer Gliders but more kept coming for them, injuring them from behind with surprise attacks. Remy, Dylan, and Aurielle were now in a pinch, narrowed to the center.

”I have an idea. ” Remy whispered. They listened to him. The Killer Gliders continue to giggle in amusement. They were surrounded, what can they possibly do with their limited manpower against the hordes of the Killer Gliders?

”Everyone ready? ” Aurielle asked. Both of them nodded, they prepared to fight with battle stances, Remy with his magic, Dylan with his string, and Aurielle with her bow. Killer Gliders immediately pointed their axe sharp edges directed toward the three of them before rising the floor and causing them to glide forwards at high speed.

”Target: Clamp! ” Aurielle shoots an arrow at a nearby pillar, and it wrapped neatly on the upper pillar. Everyone had different types of magic, hers and Dylans were one of the rarest types of magic, the manipulation of inanimate objects. After the rope was secured, her body then got pulled up. Meanwhile, Dylan jumps up in the air, where he stood still as if he was levitated. When in fact, he was standing on his threads. Each of his threads was as strong as metal and thus can carry even his body weight.

”Now! Ice Magic: Freeze! ” Remy cast his magic, freezing the whole ground. It made the Killer Gliders shocked, they were now stuck. That spell caused them to stop barely before cutting him.

”Woah! Fuh, that almost sliced through me. ” Remy sighs in relief, the gigantic axes were almost 3 meters high. If he didn stop it, he would be dead for sure.

”I can waste my mana with these kids. Dylan, you do the rest. ” Remy walks away from the Killer Gliders. They were still giggling despite being immobilized.

”These things are creepy. They still can laugh like that? ” Remy shivers in disgust. Dylan looks down at the Killer Gliders.

”Thread: Slice. ” He said while jumping down to the ground beside Remy. Suddenly, a loud slashing can be heard and the ground slowly returns to its original state. The bloodied axes fell to the floor and the giggling was no longer heard.

”Well, that was cruel. ” Aurielle said as she descended from the pillar.

”If we didn kill them, well be sliced by them instead. We barely survive, okay? Argh! I do wish we have more people for this job. But if we did bring those rookies, we would have lost them for sure. ” Remy said.

”True, but still we
e short of manpower here. I don think we can continue fighting like this. We
e outnumbered and having little to no rest at all, my body is getting weaker too. ” Dylan expressed concern.

”Yeah. Me too. I can keep up with all the ideas we have to create to outsmart them using their abilities. Lets find a place to rest. Besides, we can fight the replica like this. ” Aurielle suggested.

”If we
e lucky enough, well find the treasury directly, so we don have to fight for our life. ” Dylan said though he knew it was impossible.

”Theres no way we
e that lucky. No one puts their treasure without a guard. For sure, the Replica will be there. ” Remy sat on the floor, he was exhausted.

”Don be so pessimistic Remy. You
e our ace and our only hope for this expedition. If you
e giving up now, what about us? ” Aurielle comforted him as she sat beside him too. Remy smirked pridefully.

”Yeah, I know Im the best, hehe. ” He said proudly.

”Let me wrap your wounds. We
e getting weak and slower now. I know we
e tired, so lets rest a bit. ” Aurielle said, pulling out her medic supply and wrapping Remys bleeding arm. She applied some ointment on the smaller cuts, she did the same to Dylan and herself. Even their medicine was running out. Aurielle sighs.

”It is undeniable, this rank S territory is no joke. I wouldn risk bringing the other with us. As the Top 3, I know we can do this. Gotta live up to our title after all. ” Aurielle chuckles half-heartedly.

”Do you think we can succeed? ” Dylan asked Aurielle, looking directly into her eyes.

”Ill be honest with you two. I don think so… ” Aurielle said slowly. There was silence between them. They know it was a suicide mission but since it was their order, they had to do it.

”Don worry. As the leader, I won let any of us lay defeated here. We must be on top of our game this time, or we will lose our lives. Can you two do the same? ” Aurielle looks at them determined.

”Of course, lady boss! ” Remy gives her a thumbs up. Dylan nodded in agreement.

”Get some rest. You need to focus on recovering your mana before the next fight. Here. ” Dylan reminded Remy and handed to him a grilled meat.

”Ew. Is that a Serpentine or Araneuss meat? ” Remy was disgusted. For they have stayed in the Cursed Woods for months now and those meats were their last hope to survive. However, those meats were painful to swallow since it is poisonous, luckily they were trained to have high poison resistance, but they still can handle the taste; slimy, bitter, and gross regardless cooked, seasoned, or not.

”No. Its a Watcher. I manage to capture one last night, I was lucky enough to get my hand on it since you know how fast they are. Its pretty similar to chicken meats since the Watcher is also a bird. ” Dylan explained.

”Then, don mind if I do! ” He quickly took the meat and eat it as if he never had a proper meal in ages, which they haven yet. Remy saw Dylan and Aurielle just watches him eat, which made him feel guilty. He break the meat into pieces and handed them to both of them.

”Its fine. You can eat. ” Aurielle said, rejecting his offer. Dylan nodded too.

”No. Im not eating it, we need to have the energy to recover, so you two need to eat too. ” Remy insisted which made Aurielle smiles warmly.

”Thank you. ” She took the meat. Dylan just followed. They finally can taste a lump of normal-tasting meat. It somehow made them feel touched, but they tried to hold back their tears. Then, giggles began to be heard from a distance.

”Oh come one. Can anyone get some rest? ” Remy complained, annoyed by the persistence of the monsters and guardians of the Cursed Woods and the Ruin of Eve.

”They
e coming. Come, Remy. We need to hurry. ” Aurielle said, he quickly gets on his feet, moving to a safer location for them to rest. They rounded the large halls again.

”Walking in these large halls makes me feel cautious. ” Remy said softly.

”Yeah, you never knew when they will attack again. ” Dylan understood his feelings. Since entering the Ruin of Eve, theyve been on edge. For the possibility to be ambushed by the guardians. They were nearing the next intersection of the hall before Aurielle pulled Remy aggressively who was walking in front of them.

”Ugh! What th-! ” Aurielle covered his mouth. They hide behind the edge of the hall and peaked a bit.

”That wasn there before. Did we finally reach the end of the ruin already? ” Dylan whispers.

”I think so too… But that is oddly suspicious. ” Aurielle squinted her eyes. Remy looked at the large door at the far right of them, he can bet 100% that is the treasury door but…

”Its empty. No one is guarding it. ”
