A young boy was seen walking through the woods, coming up on a bulletin board in the middle of the road. A little white Tigx sat on his shoulder as he walked. He looked up with the black and white mask on his face, reading the words on top.

Wanderer job board.

The boy reached into his pocket and pulled out a dead Tensai nucleus. He plopped it into the mini box to the side of the bulletin board with all the job descriptions. The box was a square, and had a circular hole which the boy inserted the nucleus. Immediately after, a bag of silver pings generated on the flat surface next to the box.

The kid sighed to himself as he grabbed it.

Damn Assad. Your are broke beyond imagination my boy. We need to upgrade our swords too.

”Meow. ”

”Hey girl. ” He gently scratched under Ravins face.

Assad had just came back from a job he took which included guarding a carriage as it made its way through the Bully woods. The place that connects the slums to the central city. After wandering around a palace full of gold and luxury, Assad had to come back to reality and get his bag of 60 silvers.

He shoved the bag into his belt, next to his sword case and started walking away. I am just a little kid from the slums. Doubt anybody would pay…more…

His train of thought was interrupted when he took one last glance at the board and saw,

NAME; RYUK LIGHT.

BOUNTY; 300,000 SILVER

LAST SPOTTED AROUND SURROUNDED VILLAGE.

”YESSSSSSSS SIRRRR!!! ”

Assads eyes were practically shining as he snatched the paper of the board. Hes loud voice startled Ravin and she hit on the head with her tail.

”Okay okay Im sorry! ” He looked at her grumpy face before turning to the paper.

”Come to papa! ….Wait a minute. ”

He looked at the paper once again. It seems he was so focused on the money that he didn pay attention to anything else on the paper.

Hold on, Law member?

he kept reading.

MILITARY ISSUED!?

Eyebrows furrowed as he looked through the paper once more.

No wonder the bounty is so high. This is definitely an A ranked intermediate! Can I even do this? After some thinking he came to a simple conclusion.

….Eh who cares. Its not like I can die anyway.

And just like that Assad set off for the forests that surrounded the small village in the outskirts of the central city. Once he reached his destination, he entered the path between he tall trees, searching for other Tensai cores.

”Hm hmmm hmhmhmhm hmmm! ”

Suddenly, some humming was heard from the side. Assad turned his head and felt doom as he watched a grey haired man sit on the log beside him. They were in clear view of each other, barely any distance between.

Out of fear, Assad drawed his swords and attacked, not even knowing if this was the right guy.

How the hell!? I was sure I had my guard up!

As he striked, Ryuk used his spear to jump up and over the little boy. This movement gave Assad clear view of him and his ankle, showing him the crossed out black fish.

An ex member of the Law!

This time, Ryuk was the one to start as he charged at Assad. They exchange blows and Ravin jumped on Ryuks face, blinding him for a moment before Assad went for a direct attack. The sword hadn even grazed him when Ryuk shoved his palm into Assads chest, sending him flying back. He tore the Tigx off his face and threw her away like nothing.

A kid? It was a kid that was giving off such sinister energy?

Assads back was turned to him but as he got closer the little boy whirled himself around using both his blades to protect his body. Fortunately this was enough to Make Ryuk jump back a little.

Ooooh! Nice! Still too small though.

Ryuk started getting serious, bragging the little boy with attacks as Assad tried to evade. His opponent was too fast and Assad got cut in the back after a dodge from Ryuk. A kick followed the strike and Assad was sent down.

I knew it! Im no match!

He flipped on his back just in time to see Ryuk plunging from the sky. Assad aimed one of his swords up, hoping to stop Ryuk but it was no use. The crazy grey haired man still stabbed Assad in the shoulder as Assads sword did the same to him.

Crazy! Crazy, Crazy, Crazy! I don wanna do this anymore!

Ryuks spear was still in the little boys shoulder as he stood over him.

”You feeling it yet? You
e young so It should work faster! ”

Ryuk asked the question as Assad laid there confused.

But just then, a violent surge of pain cursed through the kids body. It felt as though million of needles were stabbing his veins over, and over, and over.

”AAAAUUGHHHH!!! ”

He cried out in pain while Ryuk watched, surprisingly unimpressed.

This was a waste of time.

As Ryuk was about to pull the sword out of his shoulder, he heard Assad uttering some words.

”Expand ”

The sword in Ryuks shoulder expanded into the size of a tree, ripping the top part of his shoulder.

”Ugh! Ah! ”

Heavy grunts escaped the mans mouth as a crazy smile appeared on his face. He hadn felt pain like this in a long time. The only person he can remember who never had boring fight with was the leader.

The sword started falling down as it was now heavier and before it cut anymore into his body, Ryuk pulled away, sacrificing his arm.

Another overt! I knew there had to be more to him! If only he was bigger! He would be monster!

As Assad was getting up, Ryuk used his scarf and tied it around his shoulder to stop the bleeding. Once Assad was up again, he felt his insides move in sloppy ways. It wasn a good feeling at all.

This weak body! So frustrating!

Just as he took the first step to Attacking the man, his legs gave out under him. Ryuk who was getting ready for the fight to come, watched as Assad plopped on the floor.

My back! Assad for some reason felt embarrassed. The cut on my back mustve sent the poinson over to my legs! I can feel them!

”HEY! ”

Ryuks voice boomed as he stood over the kids limb body.

”GET UP! Hellloooo! ”

He kicked at Assads arms but they wouldn move at all.

”Tch! You can get me excited like that and just drop! ”

When Assad wouldn move after a while, Ryuk got up and started walking away.

”Your lucky Im not into little kid screams boy!…or girl. WHATEVER YOU ARE! Im leaving! you can just die here lone. ”

With his spear, the grey haired man walked away from the little kid in all black, who was passed out on the grass bleeding terribly. That was the end of one of the fights these two shared and the beginning of the journey Assad started in surrounded village.

Dang! well what was I expecting? The masked boy felt the poison run through him. I definitely wouldn be able to get him the first time. well Im sure theres always the next.

”Meow! ”

Ravin walked up to Assads laid out body and sniffed him out. He smiled as she curled up next to him and started to sleep. He knew that when he next woke up, no matter how much time that took, she would always be there.

With a smile Assad then took his last breath.
