”Ah shit! You brats! Move along! ”

”AHH! ITS RAINING! ”

”This is why I was telling you to go home! ”

An old man who seemed to be no younger than 30 scowled at the 4 kids in front of him. For the last 12 minutes hes been telling them to go home, but just like always they wouldn listen.

”sigh~ ”

He sighed before getting up from his rickety old seat and opening the rusty door to his house.

”Fine. All of you, come in. ”

”YAAAY! ”

The kids all cheered for him as they took off their muddy shoes and entered the house. It was small with only one room, but the kids were small themselves so they made it work.

”Thanks old man! ” One of the kids with a cut on his upper lip, spoke as he wiped the mud from the ball that he and his friends were playing with.

”Yeah, Yeah S. I guess you would all rather be cramped in this little house than go home. ”

Scanning the area, old man was trying to make sure there were no other people stuck in this heavy rain.

With another killer running around, getting stuck in this rain is a death wish.

He then turned around to the kids and slammed the door shut.

”Woah there! Do you think you can afford to be slamming doors like that mister? ” a kid with blonde hair teased as they all sat around a little light bulb.

”Its my house. Imma do whatever I want! ” Mister said through gritted teeth.

He walked to the kitchen side of his house and started warming up some milk. He only had a metal pot, two glass cups and a barely functioning stove to work with.

”Do you guys always have to come and play In front of my house? I mean there are other BETTER optio- ”

”YES WE DO! ” S yelled, cutting the mans sentence short.

”Raining or not, we will always come play with those goal posts and nets you built us. Otherwise they will go waste! ” The young girl in the group spoke.

Does it mean that much to them? I just made it cause the kids in this area are some of the most depressing ones Ive seen. Plus its highly unsafe to come this far from the village. The man thought as he poured the milk from the pot to the cups.

He walked over and handed it to two kids and went to sit back down on another old seat. It looked identical to the one outside but this one wasn as worn down.

”S and K share. ” The man said as he pointed to the kid with the cut and the little girl. Everybody giggled as S got a little red. Old man also smirked as the young man glared at him while K was oblivious.

”B and T share. ” His index moved to the other two. B with the blonde hair and T with the broken arm.

And just like he said, the kids started passing around the two cups.

”When the rains over get the heck out of my house! ”

Closing his eyes, he slowly started dozing off to sleep. T sipped the milk before handing it over to B. He wiped his mouth as he thought hard about whether to ask the question or not.

”Old man….Why are you still single? ”

”HUH?! ”

”You heard me! You
e flipping 30 and still living this sad lifestyle. ”

”You want the other arm broken as well T? ” Old man asked as he positioned himself to face the kids.

”Hes right though. ” K added. ”Lucky for you I think a nice young lady from our village might have her eye on a certain brown haired man. ”

”You think you
e so smart. Im not coming to down to the village. ”

”Why not!? ”

”BECAUSE I SAID SO! ”

”hmph! ” k turned her head away from The brown haired man. ”Have fun being a sad, lonely, ugly, old and fat for the rest of your life. ”

Each one of the words struck Mister like an arrow, aiming straight for his heart. He started getting up from his seat before the S and B rushed to stop him.

”MEow… ”

”CHILL OUT MISTER! ” B yelled ashe pushed him away from K.

”mEow! ”

”HAHAHA SHE REALLY GOT YOU! ” T said from his spot around the light bulb.

”MEOW… ”

K perked up her ears as she listened closely to the door.

”Shh! ”

She shushed the others and the Mister gasped.

”YOU DARE SHUSH ME!!! ” He screamed as the two young boys tried their best to hold him back. On the other hand K ignored him and kept focusing on the door.

”SqEeeEEeeeeE!!! ”

The sound of a rusty old door opening filled the room. Once the door was fully opened, K came into contact with a little cat-like creature who had small wings.

”AAEEEEE!!! ” She squealed.

”W-WHAT!? ”

S rushed towards her after her scream of happiness.

”ITS A BABY ARMORED TIGX! ”

Quickly K rushed to pick up the little ball of fur. It had black horns and a long lizard like tail. The color of its fur was pure white, one of the rarest colors for a Tigx. The wings, barely sprouting out its back, showed a hint of gold.

”C-CAREFUL! Tigx are known for being hostile to humans! ” S Worriedly swung his arms around K as she held the baby.

”This one seems nice though… ” She looked up at Ss face and he covered his eyes from her puppy expression.

Old man stood up from his spot as S gave in and backed away from K.

”A baby Tigx? Around these parts? ”

He walked closer to the door as the kids gathered around K to take a better look. B peeked his head outside and squinted to see through the rain. A dark figure was walking towards the house, covered in blood and wounds.

”Oh whats that? ”

”Whats what?

Mister walked up to the door to also look at what B could be seeing. There was a barely 4 foot tall child walking soaked in the rain, blood running down their clothes and onto the floor.

”Oh my god! ” Mister exclaimed. ”T get the umbrella! ”

Following the instruction T jogged over to the pile of worn down umbrellas Mister had in the corner. They were all found by him in the trash cans and he had fixed them up. With his non broken hand, T reached out to one and grabbed it then rushed over to the door to hand it over to the old man.

”Thanks! ” old man spoke and he rushed out the door straight after. He didn open up the umbrella or anything. Just ran out into the pouring water.

”Well, hes going to get sick tomorrow, ” B says with a sigh. Seriously. He acts like he doesn care, but when it comes to kids he would die for them.

The old man rushes straight for the figure dressed in all black clothing. As he gets closer, he notices the yin and yang-themed mask on his face. Finally, the Old man puts the umbrella to use and hovers it over the kids head.

”You good kid? ”

Now that he was closer, Mister could see the ripped-up clothes and small physique of this person. They seemed to be no bigger than 6 and skinny enough for their veins to be popped out all over their body. His head rose as the old man got a full view of the mask on his face.

”Ah. It seems my friend over there has bothered you. I apologize. ”

His voice was sweet, calm…like the ocean on a sunny day with not one cloud in sight. Even though the two were both covering in cold water on a stormy day, Mister felt warm inside for some reason. You would think this feeling would lighten his mood or at least make him happy, but no.

What in the hell?

He didn like this at all. Whether it was the fact that he couldn see the expression this child was making, or something else, mister was reminded of his days back on the battle field. Of the feeling in his stomach when he wanted to throw up from seeing dead bodies at every corner. This was the first time, in a long time that Old man was willing to let a kid die.
