Chapter 2 The Awakening of Winter Soldier

 

Leo pushed open a door on the northern side of the base.
There was no one inside the room.

 

This room was another laboratory, but much smaller compared to Dr.
Zola’s laboratory.
Although it was small, there was no lacking of equipment and instruments.

 

Leo walked towards the control panel and he skillfully made preparations for work.
Not long after, a heavy footstep could be heard from outside and the Winter Soldier, Bucky, came in.

 

Bucky’s face was serious and expressionless.
If it were not for the red smudges on his face, Bucky would look as cold as he was in the Marvel movie.

 

“Sit down.”, Leo pointed at the chair next to him.
This time Bucky did not ignore him as Bucky sat down obediently.

 

Leo picked up the tools and started detaching Bucky’s mechanical arm.

 

In the base, Bucky’s mechanical arm needed to be maintained once a week.
In the beginning, the maintenance was done by Dr.
Zola himself.
But later, as Dr.
Zola undertook more and more projects, this work had been passed down to his assistant, Leo.

He did not want to disassemble the mechanical arm and fix it.

He finally obtained the Winter Soldier’s mechanical arm which he coveted for a long time.
Leo could not help squinting happily.

 

By having these blueprints and knowledge, he could finally secretly make his own mechanical arm.
Not only did this increase his combat ability but also increased his chances to escape this base.

 

If he was given enough time and means to gain more knowledge, he felt that he alone could smash the whole H.Y.D.R.A.
base.
Then he could be free and do whatever he wanted in the Marvel Universe.

 

The mechanical arm still needed two hours before being fully charged.

Leo sat in front of the computer and began writing a code that had been on his mind for a long time.

Leo looked at Bucky who showed signs of his main personality awakening.
He knew the code he wrote had worked.

“Steve… Steve died?! No, who are you? Where am I right now?”

 

“Don’t ask who I am and don’t ask where you are right now.
All of the answers are within your own chaotic mind.
Your time is limited, I will give you a minute to sort your thoughts.”

 

After finishing speaking, Leo focused on the screen again.
On the screen was a monitoring software he wrote himself, which could monitor the abnormal signal in the room.

 

Leo used the program to interfere with the control chip in Bucky’s brain.
But he did not know whether the control terminal on Sinthea’s hand would give a warning prompt or not.
Leo did this at high risk.
It was his first time, so he could not afford to delay it for too long.

 

One minute later, Leo sat in front of Bucky.
Bucky’s mental strength was very strong.
When he saw Bucky’s clear eyes, he knew Bucky had already sorted out his thoughts.

 

Bucky did not attack Leo immediately, which meant he had some thoughts on his mind.

 

“Good, Bucky.

Bucky suddenly became agitated for a moment but he returned back being expressionless soon enough.

 

After some thought, Bucky said in a deep voice, “I can choose to trust you, but only if you tell me your plan.
I need to know what I should do for you.”

 

“It’s up to you whether you believe it or not, but you don’t have the right to bargain.
Time is running out, you can continue being muddleheaded.
Let’s talk about it next time I wake you up.”.
After finishing his words, Leo pressed the button in his hand.
The signal interference stopped abruptly.

 

Under the effect of the control chip, Bucky shivered all over.
The sub-personality took over making him and he became quiet.

 

Leo cleaned all possible traces he might have left in the laboratory and waited patiently for the mechanical arm to fully charge.
Then he reattached it back on Bucky.

 

Leo went through all the procedures as usual and he let Bucky go.
Then he returned to his own laboratory.
Only then did Leo breathe out a sigh of relief.

 

Today was a perfect day as if Leo could see his bright future.
One happy thing after another, Leo could not sleep due to his excitement.
He turned to his workbench to vent out his energy.
As he drew and wrote on the blueprint, a mechanical blueprint like an arm slowly took shape.
