The Amulet of Mauquatamia

After I settled in I asked Cleo about her charger. She gave me something called magic battery cores, they were tiny glowing colorless balls cool to touch but I had no idea how to use them. Again she looked at me as if I was living under a rock which I ignored. After a stressful sleep I finally fell asleep hungry.

After I woke up the next morning I decided to lessen my curiosity a bit, thinking too much wasn necessarily a good thing.

The important thing now was hunger I was very hungry at the moment.

I quickly freshened up and went downstairs. When I entered the kitchen I was greeted with the sight of Ryco wearing an apron, thank God for self control cause I almost drooled.

Still I couldn control myself from gawking at him without restraint.

”Stop gawking ” his cold voice woke me up from my stupor.

I blushed in embarrassment, he must have noticed cause I saw his brows raised. Looking at his questioning gaze my heart rate spiked. With a deep breath I tried to calm my self down, it was way to early to start crushing on him, we only met like yesterday and before he wasn even human…oh ** who was I kidding he was just too damn gorgeous this morning.

Seeing his gaze linger I gave an awkward cough, straightened my back and turned away from him.

”I was hungry so I came to the kitchen, I didn know you were here, If I did I… ” l tried to explain myself but Ryco interrupted.

”What do humans eat? ”

”huh? ” his question really caught me off guard and before I could reply he asked another question.

”Are you a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore? ”

”Oh you don have to worry about that, I can eat anything ” he gave me a weird look then I realized my mistake.

”Well not anything, most things ” nah that didn sound right either.

”What I meant was… ”

”Thats enough stop ” he interrupted me with his hand up.

”I just baked bread, there are different jams in the refrigerator, you can make a sandwich right? ” I nodded and let him continue.

”If you change your mind you can tell Cleo ” While saying that he washed his hands and hanged the apron then he left without looking back.

I went with regular sandwich, after eating I looked around for Cleo but I guess she wasn up yet and Ryco left something ago. I just went back to my room and was thinking again.

Honestly I thought I would be treated as a prisoner but besides Ryco always being serious nothing has been done to me. Were they just feeding me like a thanksgiving turkey? I shook my head and decided to take a nap.

A knock on the door woke me up. ”Coming ” I yawned still a bit sleepy.

Cloes annoying voice was heard after I opened the door.

”You
e wearing the same clothes from yesterday? ”

I was tempted to cuss but swallowed it.

”I don have any clothes, what did you expect? ” I replied indifferently.

”Oh I forgot ” she smiled mockingly. I really hated teenagers.

”Anyway, why are you here ” I inquired.

”Right I was thinking we should go see Ron he might be able to make something to help you charge your phone ” she said enthusiasticly.

”For real? ” I was a bit skeptical.

”Of course lets go, you have nothing to lose anyway ”

”Okay but what do I wear? ”

”That is a problem ” she rubbed her chin looking thoughtful. ”You
e in shape, my clothes should size you ” she scanned my body.

Her words just made me roll my eyes but I still followed her to her room.

She gave me a long dress it was pretty but did not suit the occasion.

”You expect me to wear this? ” there was no way I was wearing that outside it was so old fashioned.

”Um yeah? ”

”Okay then do you have a scissor, needle and thread? ” if I was going to wear the dress then I had to make it more presentable.

Taking the scissor, needle and thread from her I went back to my room to do a last minute stitch.

After a while I was done with the dress. I transformed the dress into a short fled gown with a fringed base and long sleeves.

I got ready and wore the gown downstairs. Cleos expression gave me immense satisfaction.

”Woah you made this? ” she looked shocked.

”Yeah it was nothing really ” it was getting to my head.

”Can you do the same with my clothes? please, Ill do anything ” Cleo pleaded her ears falling.

She was so cute I wavered a bit but stood my ground.

” Lets go first well talk when we come back ” she nodded like an obedient kitten which made her even more cute.

We arrived in front of a garage which opened after Cleo knocked.

”Hey Ron what are you up to ” Cleo called out to a lemon green colored Mauquat, he had light eyes and and silver colored hair. His glasses made his look like a nerd.

”Cleo how many times will I tell you stop calling me Ron my name is Xeneron, Xene for short you calling me Ron make me sound different from others ” Xeneron said without even glancing in our direction.

”What are you worried about, you are different from the others ” Cleo replied and continued ”I have something important for you today ”.

”What? ” Xeneron asked again without looking in our direction, he was working on some sort of gadget.

”Oh for **s sake would you look here for a second? ”

I heard Xeneron sigh before raising his head and after seeing me he was stunned for a second then smiled.

”You
e the lesser Mauquat right? ” Now it was my turn to be stunned Im a lesser what now and before I could make sense of anything he continued

”Did you really appear out of nowhere, like no background or anything? ”

”Wait how do you know about me? ” my question made him chuckle

”By now all the seven great family must have known about you ”

Seriously how did the news cast so fast I wondered to myself.

”This is not why we came here? ” Cleo interrupted my thoughts.

”Why did you come here? ” Xeneron asked genuinely curious.

”I need you to make a charger for this phone ” Cleo brought out my phone from her small purse. She had collected my phone earlier before we left.

”So let me get this straight you came all this way just to tell me to make a charger? ” Xeneron looked annoyed so I tried to calm things down.

”The phone is mine, its from where I came from so magic battery cores won work on it ” immediately i finished my sentence Xenerons expression took a 180 degree turn.

”Really, so will you let me study it ” I could almost see stars in his eyes, teenagers.

”Yeah sure why not? ”

The sound of the garage door opening drew our attention and few seconds later a Mauquat entered. He was dead gorgeous, a very handsome guy. He was a red colored Mauquat with yellow at the tip of his tail and ears. His eyes were red like ruby, his hair black like obsidian.

Seeing him I sucked in cold breath, how can one be so good looking.
