”So do you expect me to sacrifice my subjects? I won permit you to drain anyones life force just to close some stupid portal. You

”Yes your majesty ” Sizzelro walked himself out.

e leaving, Ill be back later and don do things I wouldn do and Naomi behave ” Ryco said and left with Sternix.

The Mauquat in front of me had cyan colored ears and tail. The pattern that ran down her arms had the same color too. She had dark hair and and blue eyes just like Rycos, her face gave her away as Rycos younger sister and her name was Cleo.

”Hi ” I tried to start a conversation cause the awkward silence was deafening.

”So whats your story…and like what the hell happened to you ” Just from her tone one could tell, teenager I hate them the most so annoying.

”Nothing happened to me and If you don annoy me too much I might teach you what I know about fashion and make up ” I decided not to beat about bush I mean which girl didn love being beautiful even I did so this young creature was my ticket to knowing my way around here and beside she was Rycos sister so she might know a lot of things others didn . The first thing I needed was her falling into my temptation.

”What could you possibly teach me? ” she scoffed folding her arms although her eyes showed a little anticipation.

I could do this all day. ”Oh okay then your loss, acrylic nails would have looked great on those hands… ” with a sigh I continued my melodrama. ”Just show me my room so Ill get off your hair ”

”What are acrylic nails? ” Cleo eyed me curiously, she took the bait.

”Huh? ” I pretended to be surprised but I guess my acting was bad cause I saw her roll her eyes.

”Its made on your natural nails… ” my explanation stopped after I glanced at Cleos confused expression.

I needed evidence. After thinking a bit, I recalled I had pictures in my cellphone but its been switched off for two days. Hold on where is my backpack? I looked left and right but couldn find it only now did I realize my bag wasn with me. Where was it… and like a response I heard a knock coming from the door.

”Ill get it ” without waiting for Cleo to respond I hurried towards the door. I pulled it open and a black male Mauquat stood there carrying my backpack.

”His highness asked me to return your backpack ” his voice was calm making me forget my backpack for a sec.

”Thanks Grosh you can come in ” Cleos voice came from behind me snapping me out of my daydream.

Grosh replied with a nod stepped inside. After placing my backpack on the couch he left immediately. Are all Mauquat good looking or is it just the one Ive seen but even an errand boy like Grosh was good looking.

”Are you gonna continue your talk or not ” Cleos annoying voice jolted me back to reality.

”How about I settle in first, my phone is switched off and there are a lot of pictures I wouldve loved to show you in my gallery ” I was expecting a question like what a phone was but her reply caught me off guard.

”Why don you just charge it then ”

”You know what a phone is? ” I blurted out

”Of course I do, who doesn ? ” her stare made me feel uncomfortable. I was just shocked anyway who wouldn ?

”Do you have a phone? ” it was just a question but again she stared at me like I was an alien so I changed my question.

”Can I see it? ”

”Yeah I guess ” she said and went up the stairs.

How is all of this possible? I couldn understand how they use phones, she also mentioned charging my phone so there must be electricity, I looked up as gasped. A chandelier hung up on the ceiling immediately I searched for the switch but before I found it Cleo came back down.

”What are you doing? ” her voice startled me but I composed myself.

”I was looking for the light switch, where is it? ” she stared suspiciously at me but I didn really care. I watched her walk towards me then I stepped aside. There was a black screen and she swiped upward with her index finger then the room was illuminated.

”Here ” she handed me a smart phone, it was similar to what Ive seen but also different like there was no camera.

”Theres no camera ”

”Are you sure you really have a phone? ” Cleo asked raising her brows.

”You know what just show me my room Im tired ” I really was tired, today had been long and I was still trying to understand a few things. Without waiting for Cleo I carried my bag and started climbing the stairs.

Few minutes after Ryco dropped Naomi off at his house.

”Sternix, what the hell was that? ” Ryco stood in front of Sternix with a serious expression on his face.

”What? ” Sternix tried to act coy

”Don do that ” Rycos voice was cold. Sternix sighed as he knew he couldn escape this

”I think I like her ” Ryco frowned

”Think of another excuse ”

”Im not lying this time I swear, Its more than just my instinct, I can sense her emotions ”

”What! you can joke with something like this ” Ryco became even more serious now.

”Im not, theres also something else. ” Sternixs expression turned a little grim.

”I can sense magic from her ”

”Impossible ” Ryco was shocked

”And you
e saying this now? why didn you say anything to her majesty? ” Ryco was already getting pissed.

”Because I was the only one who could feel it and its not like she would have believed me anyway, besides I had to be sure and I got my answers after holding her her hand. But she doesn know ” Sternix explained to clear Naomi from suspicion.

”What is keeping you from informing the empress? ”

”You won either this is about me and no one else. I can handle this please trust me this time ” Sternix pleaded.

Ryco was a bit hesitant but eventually gave in. ”Fine but the moment things goes south Ill inform the empress deal? ”

”Deal ”Sternix smiled.

”She should be looking for her backpack by now ” he chuckled ”Ill send Groshshane over later ”.
