he wanted her to guide him.

Yernia closed her eyes when she saw him approach a bit more.

Despite waiting for him for more than a minute, her lips weren’t still thoroughly kissed.

Instead, Cassian helped Yernia upright and whispered, “Open your eyes, Yernia.”

So, her husband’s aim wasn’t to kiss her in the first place.

She even shut her eyes in anticipation.

How embarrassing!

There’s no way an intelligent guy like Cassian wouldn’t realize that she was waiting for his mouth to crash against hers.

“Oh, I’m feeling seasick.” Yernia stumbled on purpose and walked away from him.
“I think I got dust in my eyes, as well.”

Yernia felt so ashamed that she either want to die or go to a place where Cassian didn’t exist.

Warmth flushed her cheeks when he grabbed her forearm.

Not allowing him to speak or ask her questions, she threw each word as if it was a sharp knife.
“I wasn’t thinking about kissing you at all.
I was having a headache.”

“Who asked you about that?”

“Let me go.”

Cassian spun Yena around and she immediately wanted to cry when he saw his lopsided grin.

Her ears were hot, her heart was a mess, and she wanted to bury herself inside a hole.

“I’m going somewhere.”

As Yernia struggled to twist her forearm from his hold, Cassian hugged her from behind.

She stiffened.

“Look above you.”

She obeyed him like a good little girl.

A little later, Yernia’s eyes widened in surprise at the meteors falling through the atmosphere.

The glowing silver stars seemed to jump into the dark sea.

How was this possible when she saw no sign of a falling meteor earlier?

“Wow! It’s so pretty!”

The scene caught Yernia’s full attention as goosebumps rose from the expanse of her skin.

She was completely captivated that she couldn’t take her eyes off the bright meteors falling from the night sky.

The crashing sea waves tickling her ears and the warm and heavy presence behind her back was the icing to the cake.

Looking at Cassian over her shoulder, she saw him looking at her, too.

When their gazes met, he could tell she was overjoyed at his surprise.

“I knew that a meteor shower would happen tonight.”

“How did you know?”

“I’m determined to make a wish on something I’ve been wishing for everyday.
This is why I wanted to witness it again.”

“What’s your wish about?”

She wondered how desperate his wish was that he remembered the next meteor shower’s exact date.

“You.”

“What?”

Cassian smiled and gently tapped Yernia’s forehead.

“Aren’t you going to make a wish?”

“Oh! That’s right.”

Only then did Yernia put her hands together and closed her eyes.

Cassian hugged Yernia from behind and locked their fingers together.

“Please make me, Cassian and the rest, happy.”’

Unfortunately, it was impossible for everyone to be happy.
