BEAUTIFUL, INSIDE AND OUT

Early the next day, Lydia found her way to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. She sent all the maids in the kitchen to go back to bed, saying would take care of everything. Not long after, Maria and her mother came down for breakfast to see Lydia arranging the dishes at the dinning table.

”Good morning. ”

”Good morning, you look lively this morning. ” Maria complemented.

”Yes, always be happy my dear. ”Mama Zimbi said emotionally.

Cooking is actually one of Lydias hobbies. Shes always focused whenever shes cooking. She learned how to cook through her mother. Her mother used to work in a restaurant. Her dishes always tastes like magic. Lydia had always wanted to cook just like mother when she was young. She wanted to be a cook. She had learned to cook at a young age.

”Hmm, did you really make all these dishes. ”Mama Zimbi asked while stuffing food in her mouth.

”Yes aunt. ”

”Didn I tell you Lydia is one of the best cooks Ive ever come across? ” Maria said to her mother. Lydia felt shy being complemented like that.

”Lydia, since youd be staying here, how about you open up your own restaurant ”? Mama Zimbi suggested.

”Um… ”

”No worries dear, I understand, take your time and think about it. Whenever you
e ready, you can let me know ”.

”Thank you so much aunt, Im grateful ”. Lydia really appreciated Maria and her mothers kindness.

Throughout the breakfast, no one spoke . Lydia was pondering on how to tell Maria and Mama Zimbi about her situation. She didn want them to find out on their own. She didn want them to feel betrayed. Theyll find out sooner or later. So it is better to let them know before its too late.

After they were through with breakfast, Maria wished them a good day and was about to leaving when Lydia reluctantly stopped her.

”I have something to say to the both of you ”

”What is it cherry, go ahead ”

”Im so sorry this happened to you Lydia, if I hadn invited you and left you hunging, all this wouldn have happened ” Maria sobbed after she found out about what happened to Lydia at the event.

”No don say that, it wasn your fault. This happened because I wasn careful at the party. ” Lydia said to Maria, squeezing her hand gently to stop her from bursting into tears.

” This news is bitter sweet ”. Mama Zimbi said after a long silence.

”This child won have a father. But don worry , it will have a loving grandmother. Im going to be a grandmother ”! Mama Zimbi said enthusiastically.

”You
e right mother, someone will be addressing me as aunt very soon ” Maria said excitedly.

The mother and daughter hugged each other leaving Lydia downfounded.

This wasn the reaction she expected from those two . She had prepared herself incase she was to leave the house after rejecting their ideas like , ”Abort the baby. ”, but nothing like that sort came from them. Her respect for them sored up.

It wasn like she would do such thing . She would never do that no matter what the situation. Her mother thought and raised her better than that. The faithful day she found out about her pregnancy, she vowed to keep the baby no matter what comes her way. If her mother could raise her all by herself, why can she do same for her baby? She can bring herself to kill an innocent baby, HER baby. Besides, she won be alone in this world if her baby is out.

She placed her hand on her flat tummy and smiled.
