Andrès face mirrored hers as he stood up abruptly and strolled out of the office. He walked towards the door and walked out. He later came in to pick something from his fathers table and then he walked out again after hurling a dark scowl at Dee who ignored his petulant defiance.

Later, she vacated the office and went to the poolside. She was feeling suffocated inside the office and needed to be outside to enjoy the peace provided by the calm ambiance of the pool.

She sat on the canopied deck by the poolside and typed away on her laptop. She went through the new documents Simeone gave to her and studied some points. She needed to go to the public library to whip up something before she delves into a full investigation.

She has to spend more time with Andrè to have an insight into his life. As much as she could do her job and fib up some welly-furnished stories to make her client look like some heavenly candidate saint, still she liked to get close enough to understand from her perspective what she was up against and what she was for.

She had good knowledge about the family, but now she needed to have a closer look at the real problem which was Andrè. Now the challenge is, with the way he was up with her and all the heart attack he was determined to give her, it was going to be a tough ride in the park.

She read an article that had to do with the accusations of the companys involvement in the money laundry deal that went off sometime in 2018. Though, the conclusion read that the case was inconclusive. She sighed. The blogs and their unceremonious ways of arousing suspicion and leaving someones piqued interest hanging unsatiated and come to think of it why would a case like that be inconclusive?

She would have to drop by the Ministry to dig up something on the case. That is if they would be willing to give her audience those pussy ass males with their stupid flare for snobbery. They would keep posting you until you would get frustrated and have to give up. She picked out her phone and searched until she came across the name she was looking for. She dialed the number which rang the first time with no response. She tried again and on the second ring, a voice came through on the other side.

”Hello, Nath Chambers, How may we help you? ” a raspy voice rang out.

”Hy, I am Deandra Sparks and I would like to speak with your boss Nathaniel, ” she acquainted whom she deduced would be his secretary. The line was dead for a while and then his voice came through.

”Hy, Sparks. ”

”Hey, Nath. Been a while, huh? ”

”Yea, how have you been? ”

”As good as a fiddle. ”

”What have I done to deserve your notice today? ”

”I need your help, Nath, ” she pressed on and uploaded a document on her page. One good thing about the champion media was its huge followership and she trusted these documents would be made accessible to many readers.

”What do you have this time, Dee? Hope nothing inversive and definitely not compromising, ” he surmised, sounding bored. She hears a thud sound and knew he had just thrown a dart at the bullseye. He was addicted to it. Each time she went to his office he couldn make a single sentence without supporting it with a dart. She had it in mind to investigate if he took it to the courtroom.

”I need some confidential information Nath and believe me when I tell you that they are supposed to be confidential. ”

”That is my problem with you, Dee. I told you nothing compromising. Why don you manage to stay off trouble, huh? Mum would be happy if you do that. ” he used the line he pulled whenever he wanted her to comport.

”The only difference now is that mum is not present, Nath and as my brother, you have to help me because this one is a big one. I just landed a contract with the Rossis. Does that hit a note now? Good, I need the information to be able to publish a believable story for our audience. Unless you want me to move in with you, and believe me I would take your room. So unless you want that, you have to help me, ” Dee threatened mildly, knowing how that would get to him.

He doesn tolerate her presence more than she does his. As kids, their parents nearly had heart attacks trying to keep their hands off their necks and when he had gone off to Harvard and came out a lawyer, his arrogance became heightened and Dee had only survived it because as of the time she just landed the job with Champion media as an article writer so he didn have much to taunt her with since she was cashing out while he was still trying to settle before landing his first job.

”Fine, Dee. Come around to the office. Most of these lines ain encrypted and I wouldn want you dragging me to the ground with you, ” he grumbled the last part and Dee rolled her eyes at her twin brothers fit.

”Okay, Skunk, out with you, ” she said and cut the call before he would fling an ugly nickname back. He always hated when she called him skunk. Who wouldn ? But that doesn mean she won call him that if it would earn her the badge of earning his tantrum.

She smiled and dropped the phone back on the desk. Its been a while since she saw him. She has been so busy running about looking for sellable stories she has forgotten about her family. She wonders this one her mother hasn called her what fits she was concocting now. As if on cue, her phone started ringing. She looked at the screen. Her mum.

What the **?!

”Hy, Mum, ” she picked up the call.

”Do I need to come over? ” her mother bickered. She smiled and placed her hand over her mouth to suppress the laugh that wanted to escape.

”No, mum you don need to. I am totally suave. How are yall down there? ”

She smells trouble.

”I should be asking you that. Who forgets their family exists, for like how long? ….three weeks! ” she squealed.

”Mum, I know, and Im sorry about it but the thing is that Ive been really busy. My boss just threatened to fire me if I don produce a good story that would skyrocket my views as well as solidify my importance in the firm. So you understand I have to work harder right? ”

”That doesn mean you should forget about your family, Dee. I am your mother and your Dad is worried. Then for the first time you call up your brother in a while, you call him a skunk. Really? ” she bit out, making Dee roll her eyes and roll with laughter. She would have known it was that wimpy child. To think she thought he hand become more mature. He still hasn gotten over the mamas boy syndrome. She sighed and looked at from the laptop.

”As I said, Im sorry, mum. I promise to improve but I won apologize for the last part mum. You have to stop giving him these privileges. We are 26 mother, not ten! ” Dee barraged getting fed up with her brothers teenage skimpiness ”What are going to do when he quarrels with his girlfriend huh? You go to fight? ” she asked further standing up from the chair she has been sitting on to stretch her legs. She walked towards the other part of the pool still talking to her mother.

”Whatever you say, mum. I have heard you. I would come to visit. Now can I go? ”

”No, not yet. I forgot to tell you. Do you remember our neighbours son the one that graduated from Harvard with your brother? Marshall? Well, he just came back from Europe and guess what? ”

”What mother? ” she asked drily already knowing the direction of the conversation. she sat down on the step of the pool and raised her gown before dipping her leg into the water. She sighed as she felt the coldness against her skin.

”He asked about you! Lord, he is now so big and hunky just like you like them. I had promised him to call you and invite you for the upcoming harvest anniversary that is coming up_ ”

”Ewww, mother that is too much information. Since when did you start looking at the exterior of your neighbours sons to decipher their differences and when did I even tell you I like hunky men? ” she cut her mother off while palming her head in awe at her mothers demeanour. How will she promise someone she was coming for some stupid anniversary without even her permission? But she wasn going to ask her mother that because she knew it won end well.

”Forget about all that, baby. What am saying is that you should get prepared because trust me if you see him now, oh, my loins! He looks like fresh bread straight from the oven. So yummy! ” Dee nearly puked from her mamas behaviour that minute.

”I have to go, mother I would think about it. Im at work and unless you want me moving back in with you then I gat to go, ” she said ready to cut the call.

”Deandra, I am serious! You are coming for that anniversary or I swear to God I am coming over to New York City and you know that won bode well, ” she threatened Dee her voice ringing with anger.

Dee rolled up her eyes and mimicked her mothers words in a mutter. She counted to ten and then she did what has always worked for her overtime each time she wanted her off her neck

”Hello, mum. Hello! Can you hear me? Hello…I can hear you, mum, talk to you later byeeee. ” she cut the call and exhaled. If only that sorry_ass of a brother didn go running to sabotage her she wouldn be plunged into this situation. She was going to give him an earful when she met with him.

He wasn going to escape this one. Now she is going to put anniversary into her list of all the stupid things she didn have to do but had to do because of one unscrupulous reason or the other.

As for that Marshall, she has never liked him from day one. He has been the one always nosing around her and even when he had boldly asked her out in junior high, she had flat out told him off.

What now is he up to? God knows even if he looked like Jesus himself, she wasn going to give in to him.
